Wolfe County 4-H Youth Development Agent

On August 18, 2008 Jessica Mullins began her position as 4-H/Youth Development Agent in Wolfe County.

Jessica is the daughter of Jim & Shelia Mullins, Jackson, KY and a 2003 graduate of Breathitt County High School and 2007 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received a B.A. in Public Relations & Political Science and she is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Community and Leadership Development from UK

Jessica has been very active in 4-H throughout the years, she attended 4-H Camp not only as a camper, but also as a teen and an adult counselor.  She participated in various 4-H clubs and activities as a student.  In 2006, Jessica was a 4-H Summer Intern at the Breathitt County Extension Office and she is presently a 4-H Program Assistant at the Fayette County Extension Office.

We are looking forward to working with Jessica at the Wolfe County Cooperative Extension Service.    Jessica has said “I am very excited about the opportunity to come to Wolfe County and continue to build a 4-H program in this area. I look forward to meeting the community and finding out how 4-H and the Cooperative Extension Service can better serve everyone, but especially our youth.  4-H has made such a huge impact in my life and I consider it an honor to be able to come back to the region of the state I love the most and share the programs and activities that 4-H has to offer.”

Wolfe County 4-H/Youth Development

The 4-H/Youth Development program creates opportunities and supportive environments for youth and adults to become capable, competent and caring citizens.  The emphasis is on "hand-on" learning that focuses on the youth's area of interest.  Programs are conducted with the help of parents, adult volunteer leaders and professional staff who organize educational experiences.  Youth participate in organized 4-H clubs, special interest and project groups, 4-H school enrichment programs, 4-H camp and other special activities.

Four-H's Mission

Is to help young people become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.
