EARTH DAY
To commemorate Earth Day and Arbor Day 2008 a collaborative community effort between Extension, New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future, City of Springfield, Washington County Fiscal Court, Washington County School System, and the Farmers Market At The Depot Board a rain garden was planted and dedicated, several trees were planted in memory of loved ones lost over the past few years, and pansies were planted in flower beds near the Farmers Market. Lunch was provided and participants walked the newly dedicated walking arboretum pathway to the park!
