| The
Washington
County
and Nelson County Extension Offices chartered a tour bus and sponsored a
trip to the UK Arboretum and to the South Farm for a Twilight Tour to
explore the horticultural research projects being done this year. The
trip was made up of
Kentucky
master gardeners, commercial growers, and interested home owners.
The day was very informative yet extremely hot. Luckily plenty of
ice water was on hand. Several of the participants stated they were
definitely coming to the arboretum in the future and that they had no idea
so much work was going on in the horticultural area at
UK
. They especially thought it was great that
UK
was willing to keep a farm in an area where development was quickly
engulfing the area around it.
