Washington County has officially joined the Clothesline of Quilts project with the hanging of two quilt patterns on April 28th. There are currently over 100 painted quilt squares on barns, floodwalls, and other buildings just in eastern Kentucky. As this movement spreads from eastern Kentucky to western Kentucky we will be seeing a state wide quilt trail developing.
The quilts that were installed were the “Snowball Quilt” on the garage of Ben and Susan Breeding at 1205 Old Perryville Loop. The other quilt was the “Butterfly Quilt” on the barn belonging to Mark and Denita Simms that faces Idle Hour Park ( Hwy. 555 side).
Recently hung were the "Double Wedding Ring", "Bear Claw, "Rose of Sharon" and various other smaller more personalized quilts.
