Description:
The Northern Cardinal basket honors the Northern Cardinal which is the official
state bird of Kentucky as well as Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and
West Virginia.
This basket is a spacious, market basket woven in hunter green, cardinal
red, smoked reed and braided sea grass.
It feathers a wrapped handle, overlay inserts and a solid bottom that
makes it quite functional!
A wooden ornament depicting the Northern Cardinal enhances the front of
the basket and is included in the class fee.

Double
wall basket woven with fall colors inside and natural reed with dyed accent
colors outside. Square
oak base with acorn feet.
Add curls and tie on acorns to finish basket.

Description:
10” bowl made of leather. Start with a 6 inch wooden base and reed
spokes. Weave side with leather weavers. Top is done with a double loop and the
checker board stitch. There will be some color choices in leather trim.

Description:
Green
accent reed on this basket makes a unique design, but is simply woven and
finishes very quickly. Tall
“D” handle adds a special finished look.
Each basket will come with it’s own wreath attachment.
Finding a use for this basket will be no problem, as it’s pretty and
large enough for any room in your house.

Description:
You will need a red or blue handkerchief to accent the basket.
TIt makes a nice open picnic basket and is simple to make.
It has a 12” square notched handle and it accented with a touch of
color at the top and bottom.
Several colors will be available.

Description:
Bottom is a solid piece of leather with a double loop stitch at bottom.
Staves are added on sides and woven with leather just like a reed basket.
Top is finished with the double loop stitch.

The bottom is solid with a Chicken Scratch design.
The basket uses natural and dyed spokes and weavers creating a design in
the bottom as well as on the sides of the basket.
It is finished with a 10” swing handle.
This basket has many uses including a great sewing basket.

Description:
This basket is Jan’s number 5001.
It is a round woven base and is woven in a continuous weave up the sides
forming a simple Twill. Inserts
are added to make the step design.
Students will also learn a braided rim.

Description:
This great tote starts with a wood base.
Stakes and weavers are alternated smoked and natural reed to create a
hounds tooth look. Woven with a 3-3
twill pattern. It is topped with a
triple twine weave to finish the look. Leather
handles are added to the rim

Weave your own miniature Basket Shop—complete with a wide front porch!
Be on the lookout for miniature pieces for decoration (as they are not

Description:
This basket is reminiscent of an old country laundry basket.
It has a square base, that gradually turns round and is woven in a twill
pattern of over 2 and under 1. This
is an easy pattern for a weaver that might be afraid of twill weaving.
The weaving goes quickly and you’re done before you know it.
You will be able to find many uses for this lovely basket.

Description:
This solid base Feed Bucket will be a “one of a kind” in the barn or
in the house! Weavers are natural
and smoked reed with braided sea grass used as an accent.
We will embellish the basket with round seagrass.
The extra long handle is added after the basket is woven and the wooden
feet make this very unique and usable.
Description:
Make a beautiful basket with a butterfly accent.
This basket is easy and will work up quick.
The basket starts with an oval wood base.
You will learn to do a step weave and weave with two weavers at the same
time. Inserts will be added to the
step weave accenting the step up on both side of the basket.
Instructor will have an assortment of colors to choose from.

Hotel Information: Rooms have been set aside at the Holiday Inn Express
in Shelbyville (I-64 Exit 35, Hwy. 53) until October 12. The rate is $80 per
night plus tax. You may make reservations by calling (502) 647-0187. Be sure to
mention that you are with the Bluegrass Basket Guild. The hotel offers a deluxe
breakfast, exercise room and local calls.
IMPORTANT: Please send this
completed Registration Form, a stamped self-addressed envelope, and your check
for $20.00 made payable to “Bluegrass Basket Guild” to Shirley Thomas, 1610
Rice Ln, Taylorsville, KY 40071. You will
receive confirmation of your classes as soon as possible. At that time you will
be asked to send post-dated checks for your classes made payable to the
individual instructors. Please do not send class fees with this registration information.
