The goal of the Family & Consumer Sciences Program is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families. We address the challenges of critical issues affecting people's daily lives in a changing environment. Programs focus on economic, social and physical well-being of our clients. We strengthen personal and family relationships, encourage healthful choices, and identify resources to extend income.

Simpson County  Recipes and Recollections Cookbook  revealed August 27, 2009 at Simpson County Homemaker's Annual Meeting.

Simpson County Extension Homemakers are celebrating their 75th anniversary with the publication of

Recipes and Recollections

This book is a collection of recipes from past and present Homemaker members.  Organized in a 3-ring binder with a commerative cover design.  Notes of interest about the recipes and the contributors and a history of the current clubs in Simpson County.  Also a tribute to Extension Agents, both past and present.

You may purchase a cookbook by calling the Simpson County Extension Office, (270) 586-4484.  They are $14.00 each.

Why not get involved in a Homemaker's Club? 

Each month a different topic of interest is discussed at Homemaker Meetings around the county.  You can become a member of the Harristown, Lake Spring, North Simpson, Oak Grove, Franklin or Round Pond Homemaker Club.  You may also choose to be a member at large.  Also a new Craft Club is in the organizational stage and you might want to become a part of that.  Call you local extension agent, Kathy Jump, Family & Consumer Sciences and become a member today!
