American Private Enterprise System

American Private Enterprise System (APES)

The American Private Enterprise System program is developed and coordinated by the Kentucky Council of Cooperatives and the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture, Agricultural Economics Department. This program is designed for high school juniors to learn about the different types of businesses that exist in our world economy. At the county level students attend a two day program filled with business education and facility tours of local businesses in Pulaski County. The students are then evaluated on what they have learned during the program and the top participants will advance to the Kentucky Youth Seminar at UK in the summer. The Pulaski County 4-H program hosted our first APES program in nearly a decade this year and we look forward to graduating a new class for 2009. Students can find out more about the APES program by asking their guidance counselor or by contacting the Extension Office.
