Beef IRM Calendars

We have a supply of Kentucky IRM Beef Calendars in our office.  Please stop by and pick up a calendar so that you can keep records for things such as:

  • When your first calf was born
  • When the bull was turned in
  • When vaccinations were made
  • When your calves were weaned

All of this information is necessary when participating in CPH sales for Paris and Lexington.  So come get your calendar and make life a bit easier!

Shared Use Equipment

The goals of having "Shared Use Equipment" are to:

  • Impact a high number of producers affected by loss of income resulting from cuts in tobacco quota
  • Reqch farmers who cannot justify ownership expenses associated with certain equipment
  • Provide counties with limited resource options to serve a greater number of producers than other programs may allow
  • Help producers access technology necessary to improve their operations in an economical manner

To find out what type of shared use equipment Pendleton County and who to contact in reference to that equipment, please look at this list:

Soil Testing

With fertilizer prices what they are, you should sample all fields being considered for fertiliation.

Sample as soon as possibe so delays will not restrict your applications.  Soil samples CANNOT be sent for testing if wet.  Depending on the time of year, this may be a problem for many people.  If precipitation is hindering your plans, please take your samples as normal and dry your soil NATURALLY before bringing it to the office.  To do this, lay it out on newspaper and let it dry - please do not dry your soil in an oven or apply any other type of artificial heat to it.  This will only take important information away from your sample and possibly render a false response once tested.

For the convenience of our Pendleton County producers, soil samples are FREE!  So don't delay in testing ... find out exactly what you need to help raise a better crop.  And please remember, results will take at least 3-4 weeks (maybe longer) to return, so remember to give yourself plenty of time for the results to come back.
