Community and Economic Development

The Community, Economic and Tourism Development programs are an integral part of the Meade County Cooperative Extension Service.

Community Connections is a program developed by the Meade County Staff.  The purpose of the program is to work in communities throughout the county to help residents identify strengths and needs, provide information and create linkages with other individuals and/or agencies to address needs and to educate them on services provided through the Cooperative Extension Service.

As a result of Community Connections, the Battletown Community formed a citizens watch group to deter crime in Battletown and surrounding areas.

Currently "Community Connections" is being offered in the Muldraugh Community.  The next meeting will take place on Thursday, September 21st, 7:00p.m., Muldraugh Elementary
