Maxwell Branch

All Pictures are the property of Greg Whitis and may not be reproduced, copied, etc without written permission!!!!!!!!!

Eight people made this hike which was a little over 5 miles in length.  We viewed two waterfalls, numerous small natural arches called “windows”, very interesting ice formations, and a very diverse cliff line.

The hike was led by Dave Howe.  Maxwell Branch is located in Beaver Creek Wildlife Management Area.  The hike began on a trail into the Management Area.  After about a mile the trail ended and we bushwhacked for awhile through rhododendron thickets, downed trees, etc.  We were then able to cross over Maxwell Branch and walk a very diverse cliff line that was a much easier hike.

Even though we were all tired we all agreed that the trip was well worth it.

Maxwell Branch in located in the Parkers Lake area of the county.
