Four people braved a little warmer weather to hike the Lick Creek Trail.
It is Forest Service Trail #631 and connects with Section 33 of the Sheltowee Trace. To visit Lick Creek Falls you must take FS Trail #631A off of #631. Along this trail hikers viewed wildflowers, rock shelters, three water falls, and lick creek. One must cross Lick Creek a few times so there is a danger of “wet feet”.
It is advisable to hike this trail from FS Rd 622 just off of Hwy 1651 south of the school bus garage.
Once you connect up with the Sheltowee Trace just below Princess Falls you have your choice, you can go South (1 mile) and come out at the Yammacraw Bridge on Hwy 92 (will make you about a 6 mile hike) or you can turn North (about 5 miles) and come out at Alum Ford on Hwy 700 (will make you about a 10 mile hike). Either way you will be walking along the Big South Fork River.
