EFNEP & SNAP-ED
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-Ed) are federally funded programs with a trademark for quality. Conducted by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, EFNEP and SNAP-Ed paraprofessionals work with groups and individuals with children to select more nutritious diets and increase their ability to manage a food budget. These programs make a difference in the lives of Kentucky families.

EFNEP & SNAP-Ed Mission Statement
The Kentucky Nutrition Education Program will educate limited resource people to acquire knowledge, improve skills, and change behavior necessary to achieve health and well-being.
Programs are carried out in a wide variety of locations such as Schools, Libraries, Local Angencies, and Community Centers. Some of the lessons available include:
* My Pyramid/My Plate (highlighting each food group and the important nutrients)
* Plan for Savings
* Meal Planning
* Label Power
* Feeding Children
* Breakfast Makes a Difference
* Food Safety
* Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Weight Control, and Heart Healthy Choices
