The class is free!
Soil Analysis
When was the last time your soil was analyzed? Are you guessing about the amount of fertilizer or lime you are adding? If so, submit a soil sample for your flower bed, vegetable garden, or lawn. The processing fee is minimal and it might just save you a lot of money.
What is a Master Gardener and how do I become one?
The next Master Gardener Class is planned to begin
May 8th, 2008. Classes will meet at the McCracken County Extension Office each Thursday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM for 14 weeks. Contact the McCracken County Extension Office by calling 270-554-9520 if you are interested.
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers that assist County Extension Agents with educational programming. Master Gardeners are active throughout the U.S. and Canada and over 40 Kentucky counties have active Master Gardeners. Volunteers receive extensive training by professional staff in order to reliably answer questions, perform educational presentations, assist with research, work with youth, and further spread the values of horticulture, beautification and the other programs conducted by the Cooperative Extension Service through their many activities and events. If you are interested in joining the Master Gardener program, contact Dava Hayden at the McCracken County Extension Office.
In addition to the Master Gardener Program, we send out newsletters throughout the year. If you would like to be added to the newsletter mailing list, please call 270-554-9520 or email DL_CES_McCracken@email.uky.edu
