Welcome to the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service site for McCracken County Horticulture. This site contains information for individuals interested in consumer or commercial horticulture, Purchase Area Master Gardeners, and Extension Master Gardeners trained through the McCracken County Extension Service.
Mission of the McCracken County Horticulture Council: To identify the needs of horticulture education for consumers and commercial enterprises of McCracken County and deliver quality education programs to all people.
Mark your calendar for November 3rd for a presentation on Selecting and Planting Trees for the Urban Landscape. Presentation will begin at 4 PM and end at 5:30 PM. Replacing trees that were destroyed by droughts, high winds and storms can be overwhelming. Selecting the right tree for small spaces or near sidewalks requires long-term planning with knowledge of plant landscape performance. Learn what trees will thrive in western Kentucky in extreme conditions. Registration is not required.
