VISION

As a result of the Kentucky Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, limited resource families and individuals will:

        Improve health and wellness

        Improve diet quality

        Reduce hunger

MISSION

    The Kentucky Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program will educate limited resource people to acquire knowledge, improve skills and change behavior necessary to achieve health and well being.

WHO WE ARE

    Established in 1969....Funded through USDA

    Administered through University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service.

    target limited resource families with young children.

WHAT WE DO

    Provide nutritional programs in group meetings, homes, schools, day camps, and after school programs.

1. To improve nutritional status.

2. To get the most for the food dollar, both in quality and quantity.

3. To improve food storage and increase food safety.

HOW WE DO IT

    Families are reached by home visits or group meetings.

    Families are taught a 12 lesson curriculum.

    Behavioral and practice changes are evaluated by analysis at entry and exit by use of food recalls and a behavior survey.
