Extension
began in
Lyon County,
with our
first Agriculture Agent. Charles V. Barney on January 1, 1917.
Francis Utley became the first Home Agent in October, 1946.
The Lyon County Extension Homemakers have been in existence for 60 years,
having celebrated their 60th annual day in November, '06. Mr. Don Humkey
was the first Lyon County 4-H Agent starting in July, 1979.
Today, agents Susan Fox, Laura Wilson, and Wanda Paris welcome the opportunity to
share
the knowledge from the University of Kentucky Extension and offer their
services to you, the community of Lyon County.
