Extension Leadership

The Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service is dependent upon the broad-based participation of local citizens. That involvement is accomplished through the Extension advisory council system. The Extension Council is an organized body of volunteer leaders that counsels with Extension agents in the identification of local problems and issues, assists in program implementation, participates in determining program success, and communicates program accomplishments and funding needs to decision makers.

Leadership in Livingston County

In Livingston County we're growing ideas that make a difference in your life, your family, and your community.  We have a dedicated staff of trained professionals delivering educational programs in agriculture and natural resources, family and consumer sciences, 4-H/Youth Development, and rural and economic development.  The Livingston County Cooperative Extension Office is your connection to the University of Kentucky and the world.

Leadership & Volunteers

  • Each year, Homemakers coordinate the open exhibits at the Livingston County Fair.  4-H volunteers take care of every aspect of the 4-H exhibits and also sponsor a concession stand, bike rodeo, and livestock show.  Volunteers learn a variety of skills by participating in this county event.

  • The county 4-H Council, Camp Scholarship Committee awarded $2700 in scholarship money for 2002 4-H Camp.  Scholarship money was raised through fundraisers, grants and private donations.
