EFNEP
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is a free service of the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, and is available to families raising young children, and pregnant or parenting teens, as well as adult and youth groups.
The goal of the EFNEP is to educate limited resource families with young children to acquire knowledge, improve skills and change behavior necessary to achieve health and well-being. It has effectively increased the families' ability to manage a limited food budget and select more nutritious diets.
Would you like to know more about healthy eating for your family, low cost nutritious recipes, or information about farms and how our food grows?
Hi, my name is Billie June Richardson and I would be happy to schedule a home visit with you. I'm also available to teach in the classroom or any group, adults and children. I also take referrals.
Check our the following website to what EFNEP has to offer you: http://www.ca.uky.edu/fcs/NEP/pdf/brochure.pd
4-H POULTRY CLUB
The 4-H Poultry club is an excellent way for youth to learn the responsibility of raising and caring for poultry.
There will be oportunities with the Poultry Club to learn about chickens, geese, ducks, quail, peacocks, turkeys and pheasant.
Local 4-H club members as well as community family and friends donate fertilized eggs for use in our incubators. This is a great educational opportunity for our youth.
Through the 4-H Poultry club, youth in the community can adopt a chicken.
Any student grades 1-12 who would like to join, please call Billie Richardson at the Extension Office at 633-2362. Also, any adult who would like to buy or sell poultry call and we will add you to our contact list.
If anyone has poultry equipment to donate, our club could use incubators, brooders, waters, feeders, cages, and carriers.
