Family and Consumer Science Upcoming News and Events

 

 

 

Family and consumer Sciences would like to give you the highlights of upcoming events, and  invite you to check out our Community Education Class Catalog it is loaded with activities that are sure to please all.

 

 

Second Sunday  held on October 11, 2009 was a great success. Participants ran, jogged, exercised, pedaled tractors, rode bicycles, jumped in an inflatable, won some great door prizes, but more importantly, were active! Congratulations to everyone who enjoyed the beautiful fall weather at Levi Jackson State Park. We look forward to planning next years event and hope to draw even more community involvement. 

The Laurel County Homemakers' "Laurel County Barn Quilt Project" is rapidly becoming a popular attraction for farmers in the county. With 3 completed barn quilts, 2 under the artists' brushes, and 4 on the "to do" list, the Extension office and Homemakers are ellated to be part of this laurel county beautification project that is fueled with a wonderful story behind each barn quilt! The Barn Quilt Project is still accepting applications and guided map brochures are in the works... please call or stop by for more information. 606-864-4167

November 12th is the widely popular Holiday Cooking School held at the Optimist Sports Complex. Tickets cost $20.00 which includes a 2009 Clay County Cookbook! Tickets are limited so reserve yours today! 606-864-4167

Old Fashioned Cream Pulled Candy class on December 15th; the 4 pm session is filled to capacity, however, call 606-864-4167, and reserve your spot for the 9am, 11am, or 2pm class.
