Kentucky Youth Seminar

The Kentucky Youth Seminar is a statewide 2½ day program for selected high school juniors and seniors who were participants in the county American Private Enterprise System Program. It is both instructional and competitive. Participants have an opportunity to listen to and question speakers from business and government about our American Private Enterprise System. They are also given the opportunity to function as members of a board of directors of a cooperative or corporation to solve real-world problems presented to them. Examinations are administered to determine cash and scholarships. Fourteen Youth Scholars and two Junior Leaders are selected to attend the National Institute on Cooperative Education meetings in August.

OBJECTIVES
- To help participants better understand the American Free Enterprise System and how business decisions are made by solving problems as directors of corporations or cooperatives created for seminar purposes.
- To provide leadership training and motivation.
- To hear and question business and government leaders who discuss topics of current interest.
- To learn of a variety of career options available in the Business Sector.
