Kids are encouraged to get their hands dirty in our
demonstration gardens while learning about composting,
vegetable, fruit, and flower gardening, trees and shrubs.

Fruits, Vegetables, and Flowers
Are you disappointed that you did not receive a blue
ribbon on your entry at last year’s fair? Join us to learn
what kind of preparation will make for a blue ribbon entry!
We will discuss what the judges are looking for and how to
display your fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

A Guided Tour and
Discussion of Woody Landscape Plants
Join us for a guided tour through our landscape and
local native environments to discuss woody trees and shrubs.
We will start with a learning session at the Durr Center,
and continue on a guided tour from there.

Floral Design
from the Cutting Garden
Take a tour through our cutting garden and learn about
some of the most reliable cut flowers for our climate. Also
learn about principles of floral design, and make and take
your own blossoming masterpiece! $5, Class size limited to
25.

Veggie Tasting
Party!
Come and learn about the veggies we grew this year, and
you are the judge of what taste the sweetest, what looks the
prettiest, and what not to grow again! This is a fun way to
learn what to grow in your own garden to impress friends and
family, not to mention we will have FREE FOOD for you!
