4-H
Jefferson County 4-H Horse
Program
|
Kids and horses - it's a great combination!
Just ask any of more than
200
4-H members who are involved in a 4-H horse
club in Jefferson County and they'll tell you, joining a 4-H horse club is a
great way to learn more about your horse and have fun while learning.
The horse clubs sponsor year-round
activities, events and teams for club members. There are horse shows,
horse drill teams, horse bowl teams, horse camps, horse clinics, horse
arts and crafts, and even a speech and demonstration competition about
horses. You can pick and choose what you would like to do.
Owning a horse is not a requirement to
participate in the 4-H Horse Program. Many members lease horses to
show, or they may participate in the
many other non-horse activities.
To find out more about
joining a 4-H horse club that is right for you, contact Willie Howard, 4-H Youth
Development Agent, at 569-2344 ext 126.
