HELPING FAMILIES HELP THEMSELVES
EFNEP TEACHES PEOPLE

	Why a balanced diet is important to their health.
	How to select and buy food that meets nutritional needs.
	How to get the most for their food dollar.
	To use foods for commodities, WIC, and food banks
	How to prepare good tasting nutritious meals.
	How to improve food storage

WHO DOES EFNEP SERVE?

Limited resource families with young children are the main focus of the program. Families receiving public assistance such as food stamps, WIC or commodities are eligible.

EFNEP HELPS PEOPLE:

	Help themsleves,
	Gain respect,
	Achieve a new sense of dignity, and
	Establish a new beginning

TYPICAL CLIENTS INCLUDE:

	Young families,
	New moms,
	Parenting teens,
	Pregnant teens, and
	Diverse cultural groups.

THE BOTTOM LINE

EFNEP is a lifeline that helps families:

	Eat better,
	Eat healthier; and
	Eat more economically
