Beef Producers

Grayson County is currently ranked 11th in the
state in beef production.  Cow/calf operations
 are the major focus of beef production in
Grayson County.  Cattle and calves total over
40,000 head, with beef cows making up
21,000 of that number.

 Tests The Kentucky Feedlot And Carcass Tests program
 (FACTS)  is an educational  effort to assist Kentucky beef
producers in learning more about their calves after the
 feeder calf production phase.  This program is sponsored
 by the University  of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service,
Kentucky Cattlemen's Association,  and Southern Kentucky
 Agriculture  Development.  Also, the Kentucky  Department of
 Agriculture is  a strong supporter of this program.
