When your garden or farmer's market overflows with fresh vegetables and fruits, you can take your home cooking one step further by preserving some of those foods for your family to enjoy all year long!
Food Preservation Workshops give you the opportunity to learn everything that you want to know about canning, making jams and jelly, as well as freezing and drying food. The Extension Service conducts trainings in the following preservation areas:
Canning Fruits, Vegetables, & Meat
Jam & Jelly, including Freezer Jam and Low-Sugar/Sugar Free
Freezing & Drying Fruits & Vegetables

The Exension Service has the following canning supplies available for loan with
required $25 deposit, which will be refunded when brought back in good condition.
Items may be checked out for up to 3 days.
- 2 Pressure Canners - 1 dail gauge and 1 weighted gauge
- 3 Water Bath Canners
- 1 Food Dehydrator
