The 4-H Shooting Sports Program began in 1988. The primary purpose of 4-H is to provide growth and youth development through leader-ship and hands-on training. 4-Shooting Sports give children 9-18 the opportunity to learn proper firearm safety. It is an introduction to safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment, which is a valuable skill. Certified coaches through 4-H are always present and ensures the safety of each child while handling a firearm.  We offer opportunities within the disciplines of Shotgun, Rifle, and Archery.

The National Wild Turkey Federation’s JAKES Take Aim airgun trailer will be located at the Fayette County Extension Office on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm, December 13th during the organizational meeting of the Fayette County 4-H Shooting Sports Club.  The JAKES program is dedicated to informing, educating and involving North America's youth in wildlife conservation and the wise stewardship of our natural resources. Each year NWTF chapters across the US and Canada host events giving young people a chance to get out doors and try hands on activities. Events are designed to help pass on the traditions of hunting, teach the principles of habitat management, hunting ethics, safety and responsible hunting.
