Regional Quick Response Team

Job Description

 Outcome:

  • Training and/or resources will be provided for county extension agents that will effectively address issues and program needs identified at the regional level that are of high importance at the county level.

  • Partnership among specialists, other campus faculty, county extension agents and other partners in the region will be enhanced while working on a common goal.

  • Connections of faculty and staff at the university level will be strengthened to allow for the engagement of the total university at the county level. 

Membership:

A self-directed, quick response team will be appointed by the Associate Director of Extension comprised of UK and KSU extension and research personnel (agents, associates, specialists, and administrators), volunteer stakeholders, faculty from other colleges on campus and other universities, and agency personnel, etc.  The self-directed teams should be flexible in membership, entrepreneurial in nature, and generate resources for enhanced programming at the county level.  Timeline of the team and length of membership terms will depend on the depth of the issue.

Job Description of Quick Response (Self-Directed) Teams:

  • Take action on specific issues and program needs of high importance to the region.

  • Develop an “Action Plan” for program delivery and curricula for staff development.

  • Serve as the technical resource for developing products for program delivery and staff development.

  • Report progress to Regional Issues and Program Committee on a quarterly basis.

  • Evaluate outcomes of team efforts.

  • Develop evaluation tool/method to determine impact of team efforts on county programs delivered at the county level.

Other:

  • Team will need to elect a chairperson from group.

  • Chairperson will be responsible for facilitation of meetings, preparing the agenda, reporting progress to Regional Issues and Program Committee, assigning sub-committees, etc.

  • Process review will be expected at the conclusion of the team’s effort.

  • Mini-grants will be available for seed money for implementation of team efforts.
