Reaching Hispanic-Latino Audiences
The goal of the State Reaching Hispanic/
Latino Audiences is to prepare Kentucky Cooperative Extension to
access the and meet the needs of Latino-Hispanic audiences by
providing culturally competent resources, professional development,
and collaborative networks. Following are resources that agents can
use when planning and delivery programs at the local level.

National Immigrant Farming Initiative Bibliography of Bilianqual
Agricultural Dictionaries and Glossaries-
The
National Immigrant Farming Initiative has developed a list of
bilingual dictionaries and glossaries of agricultural terms intended
to provide information about resources for interpreting,
translating, or just improving vocabulary in an agricultural
context. The dictionaries are grouped by language, and then listed
in alphabetical order. For each publication, the bibliographic
information, a brief description, and ordering information is
provided. If Extension staffs are involved in printing and
publishing they may find an agricultural dictionary useful.

Rural Hispanics
at a Glance-This brochure provides
the latest
information from the 2000 Census and other
Federal data sources about Hispanics living in non-metro counties.
Growth and geographic dispersion, demographic characteristics,
recent indicators of social and economic conditions, labor market,
income, poverty, and social service indicators for non-metro
Hispanics are highlighted.

Spanish Handbook-This
handbook is a quick guide for communicating in Spanish developed by
Lyn Borders. It provides information on the Spanish alphabet
and pronunciation. Common phrases, courtesy expressions, and
terms for conversational Spanish are provided. Great for the
beginner.

Spanish Interpreters-Welcome to the
Kentucky Cabinet of Human rights list of Spanish translators and
interpreters. The purpose of this list is to assist local
human rights commissions, non-profit organizations, government
agencies, community based organizations and community leaders to
find a translator or an interpreter to work with their
Spanish-speaking client.
