The goal of the Family &  Consumer Sciences  Program is to improve the quality of   life for individuals and families. We address the challenges of critical issues affecting people's daily lives in a changing environment. Programs focus on economic, social and physical well-being of our clients. We strengthen personal and family relationships, encourage healthful choices, and identify resources to extend income.

EXTENSION  HOMEMAKERS  MEETINGS

Extension Homemakers meet monthly September
through May.    Yearly dues are $10.00.  Mailbox membership available for those desiring to be a member but unable to attend monthly meetings.  For more information contact the Clinton County Extension Office at 606-387-5404.

SPECIAL INTEREST CLUBS 

Interested in making crafts or learning various quilting techniques?  Extension Homemakers offers the program for you.  Craft Guild  is a group interested in making various craft projects on a monthly basis.  They meet the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Extension Office Meeting Room.  Quilt Guild was organized for those who love quilts.  Each monthly meeting learn a new technique, pattern or project.  Quilt Guild meets the 3rd Thursday at 8:30 AM at the Extension Office Meeting Room.

OVARIAN CANCER SCREENING 

 
Ovarian cancer kills more women than all other gynecologic cancers put together in the United States.  Women at highest risk to develop ovarian caner are over the age of 50 or have a relative with ovarian cancer.  Early ovarian cancer produces no symptoms so the disease is often advanced by the time it is diagnosed. Any women 50 and over with one or two ovaries may participate in the free cancer screening procedure at UK.  For an appointment call toll free, 1-800-766-8279.  Screenings are also available at the Pulaski County Health Department in Somerset.  Screening are free!

Complaint Procedure

Any person who believes they have been discriminated against in any Cooperative Extension Service sponsored activity or program may file a complaint with Secretary of Agriculture by writing to:  USDA Director, Office of Civil Rights, Room 326-W Whitten Bldg.; 14th and Independence Ave., S.W.; Washington, D.C. 20250.  A complaint must be filed no later than 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination.
