Youth learn proper insect collection techniques. UNIT 1: Collect and mount 10 insects - identify; UNIT 2: Collect and mount 20 insects - identify | |||
| * Forestry (Leaf Collections) | Youth learn necessity of trees in the environment. UNIT 1: Collect 10 leaves; UNIT 2: Collect 20 leaves and identify by common name; use of wood; date, place, and county found; UNIT 3: Prepare leaf prints and display of leaf, stem and fruit. Put on display board. | |||
| * Demonstration Contest | Youth learn to organize and present information by demonstrating a skill. | |||
| * Issues | Conference for teens to learn the process skills needed to carry out community programs. | |||
| * Arts & Crafts Workshop | Youth learn to make a variety of functional and decorative projects. | |||
| * Breads Bake-Off | Classes include: 4 cornmeal muffins, 4 plain muffins, 4 biscuits, 4 cinnamon rolls, ½ quick bread loaf, ½ yeast bread for entertaining, ½ ring bread from other lands, other breads (including mixes). | |||
| * Citizenship Focus | A one-day program in which 8th grade students spend a day at the Clark County Court House to achieve a greater awareness of how local, county, and city governments operate. | |||
| * Speech Contest | Youth learn to write, organize and deliver a speech effectively. Ribbons and awards are presented to participants. | |||
| * Talent Show | 4-H members have opportunities for self-expression by sharing talent in singing, instrumental music, skits, and dancing. | |||

Increase knowledge of the American economic system by individual and group study. | |||
| * Fashion Revue | 4-H members develop poise and confidence by modeling their clothing projects. | |||

4-H projects are activities that youth
accomplish with the assistance of an adult or teen.
When completed, these projects may be entered in the fair and

| * Consumer Education | Learn basics of being an informed shopper. | |||
| * Babysitting | Learn skills necessary to be an informed and responsible sitter. | |||
| * Rabbits/Small Animals | Learn to care for and show rabbits / pets. | |||
| * Veterinary Science | Learn basic care of animals. | |||
| * Nature Studies | Learn more about your natural environment, wildflowers, stream walks, bird watching, astronomy, wildlife, conservation. | |||

| § LIVESTOCK CLUB | Activities include seasonal meetings; raise steers, heifers, swine, sheep, llamas; show in county fairs and the state fair. Learn livestock judging. | |||
| § TEEN CLUB | Activities include monthly meetings, retreat, senior conference, club trips, leadership, community service, and fund raising. | |||
| § RABBIT CLUB | Activities include monthly meetings, health workshops, and competition. | |||
| § SEWING CLUB | Activities include safety training, clothing and non-clothing construction, and fashion revue. | |||
| § SHOOTING SPORTS CLUB | Disciplines in shotgun, rifle, pistol, muzzle loading, black powder, and archery. | |||
