Local 4-H Clubs
There are many opportunities for children to participate in traditional 4-H Clubs. Listed below are times and dates these groups meet.
This club focuses on the care and raising of rabbits. Youth will have the opportunity to show their rabbits at area events and learn how to properly care for them. The 4-H Rabbit Club meets the 1st Friday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Yvonda Rash is the current club leader.
This club is all about horses! There are activites for youth with horses and without. Clinics, Shows, Trail Rides, Drill Team and Horse Bowl, are activites that are offered. This club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays and Thursdays. Greg and Denise McAuliffe are the Horse Club Leaders.
Scrapbooking is really popular with youth and adults. Just checkout the number of magazines, web sites and stores that market the supplies. This club is open to all youth intereted in scrapbooking. They meet the 3rd Thursday of each month. Tonya Tucker is the club leader.
4-H Sewing Skill a Thon
Basic sewing skills are taught the 1st Tuesday of each month from 9:30 – 12:00 with Knitting from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Lenore Steele is the club leader.
4-H Home School Club
This club offers education and socialization opportunities of area home school youth. They meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.
Lola Burton is the club leader.
Bullitt County has a large and diverse 4-H Shooting Sports Program. Clubs focusing on Trap, Archery, Black Powder, Rifle and Pistol are available. All coaches have been trained and certified. Call for current meeting times.
The 4-H Ag. Explorers will meet the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The club will explore many topics such as gardening, small animals and 4 H fair exhibiting. Carol Stivers & Myra Gifford are 4-H Club Co-leaders.
This club is open to all teens and will be lead by Alicia Embry. The club members will determine activities and events. The Club will meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
