Welcome to the Family and Consumer Sciences Program Area of the Bullitt County Extension Service.
Hello – my name is Ruth Chowning. I am the Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) in Bullitt County. I have been an Extension Agent for 14 years here in Bullitt County and previously worked for 2 years in the Washington County. My educational background includes a BS in Child Development and Family Studies and a MS in Home Economics Education.
The goal of the Family & Consumer Sciences Program is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Bullitt County. We want to help the residents of our county meet new challenges in an ever changing environment. We focus on our clients' economic and social well-being through programs that help people extend their incomes, improve their health and strengthen their personal and family relationships.
;The Bullitt County FCS program offers a variety of educational opportunities ranging from receiving a newsletter in the mail to actively participating in many different organized groups. One main group that meets at the Bullitt County Extension Service is the Bullitt County Homemakers. They have a strong group with over 120 members.
