Clothesline of Quilts

Applications are now being accepted for Breckinridge County’s Clothesline of Quilts.  Clothesline of Quilts started a few years ago in Adams County, Ohio when Donna Sue Groves painted a large quilt square directly on her barn in memory of her mother, Maxine Groves, who was a noted quilter in the area.

Since then, the idea has spread to several states and has begun in Breckinridge County. If you are interested in having a quilt square hung on a barn, you will need to complete an application which can be picked up at the Extension Office or the Chamber of Commerce.

Quilt Block Guidelines:

Each block must be 8’ x 8’.

Quilt square may be a pieced or appliqué pattern.

Blocks must be painted on approved signboard or other similar material.

Quilt block must be placed on a Committee approved barn, building or other location.

The quilt block must be approved by the local committee in order to maintain, refrain from excess duplication and insure quality of the project.

The local committee will make the necessary contact to schedule the hanging of the block.
