NEP (Nutrition Education Program)
The purpose of the Nutrition Education Program (NEP) is to educate Kentucky families on the importance of healthy nutrition. The curriculum, which is based on USDA dietary guidelines, is designed to correspond with the new Food Guide Pyramid Model that represents the five basic food groups. Furthermore, the new model has incorporated physical activity as an important part of our daily diet and exercise.
