Farmer’s Market Children Program

Beginning Friday, July 11th and every Friday throughout the Bath County Farmer’s Market Season, Bath County 4-H along with the Nutrition Education Program will be hosting a Children’s Program.  The program will start at 11:00 am and will last about an hour.  Each program meeting will be based on Nutrition and Fitness.  All ages are welcomed and if a child attends they will receive items to take home.  The Farmer’s Market and Children’s Program is located at the Bath County Agricultural, Education, and Marketing Center on US 60 East, towards Salt Lick. 

 

Bath County 4-H Fair Exhibits

In Conjunction with this year’s Bath County Agricultural Fair, July 11th through the 12th, Bath County 4-H will be conducting Youth Exhibits Judging.  Exhibit registration will be Wednesday, July 9th at the Agricultural, Education, and Marketing Center between 3 pm and 6 pm.  Exhibit judging will be Thursday, July 10th, with releasing on Friday, July 11th.  Exhibits will be open for public viewing on Thursday noon to 4:30 and Friday, noon to 3:00 pm.  Youth ages 5 to 19 years old can submit projects to be judged they have knitted, painted, baked, canned, photographed, grown or built in the past year.  These projects can come from kits or self-made during any other organization setting like boy scouts, girls scouts, church group, and so on.  Placing Projects will receive ribbons and monetary rewards.  For complete rules and divisions, you can look in the Bath County Fair Catalog or contact the County Extension Office at 606-674-6121

 

Microwave Magic Cooking Day Camp

This day camp will be for pre-teen/young teen to learn safe ways to prepare foods in the microwave.  Join 4-H and NEP on Wednesday, July 16th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for a day of fun and learn some tips on cooking.  The location of this Day Camp will be at “The Clubhouse”, located behind the old courthouse, on South Court Street, Owingsville.  You must pre-register for this day camp at 606-674-6121, 4-H Office.  Deadline to register is Friday, July 11th, only 20 participants will be permitted to attend, and the registration fee is $5.00.  We will prepare a meal completely in the microwave.  There will also be a movie, popcorn, and game time.

SKATEPALOOZA III

Friday, July 18, 5:30 pm

 I would like to announce Nationally Known Skatewave Demo from Minnesota will be stopping in Bath County.  This tour stop will bring skateboard equipment, skate apparel, and much more.  There will be competitions for ages 5-18 years of age.  Age Divisions will be conducted for fairness to all competitors.  This competition is open to youth from across the county and region.  Concessions will be available on grounds.  $5.00 cover in cludes admission into skate competition and 5 Band Concert.  Prizes and Giveaways will be done throughout the night.  All activities will be at the Bath County Agricultural, Education, and Marketing Center on US 60 East.  This event is sponsored by Purely Skateboarding, Skatewave Park Systems Bath County 4-H, and Cosmic Shop (Lexington).

 

Bug Hunter’s Day Camp

You will be able to answer that question and a whole lot more after the evening of hunting, classifying, and labeling the critter’s you catch.  On Thursday, July 24, 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, we will do some day and night time hunting to start a collection or just to have fun doing so.  The camp fee is $5.00 that covers snacks, drinks, collection box, pins, and materials.  Youth entering 5th grade and above are allowed to signup for this day camp.  To register call 606-674-6121, deadline to register is Monday; July 21thand only 20 participants will be permitted to attend.  All activities will be done at the Bath County Agricultural, Education, and Marketing Center on US 60 East, towards Salt Lick.
