4H IS . . .
the Youth Development component of Cooperative Extension. Cooperative Extension extends the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture and Kentucky State University to citizens throughout the commonwealth. 4-H strives to meet the four developmental needs which we all have -- need for belonging, mastery of skills, independence, and generosity. 4-H teaches youth the basic skills they will need to succeed as adults. Youth are involved through individual self-study projects at home, organized clubs in communities and schools, special intrest groups, camp, television, after-school child care programs, or as part of the school curriculum.
WHO CAN JOIN 4-H?
Anyone between the ages of 9-18 may join 4-H. (There are some activities available for "Cloverbuds" (ages 5-8.)
