FSNEP (Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program)
The purpose of the Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP) is to educate Kentucky families on the importance of healthy nutrition. The curriculum, which is based on USDA dietary guidelines, is designed to correspond with the new Food Guide Pyramid Model that represents the five basic food groups. Furthermore, the new model has incorporated physical activity as an important part of our daily diet and exercise.
In addition to teaching lessons on nutrition, home canning is another workshop offered through the Cooperative Extension Service in Breathitt County. This service allows me to teach a skill that I love and enjoy doing. Whether you're a beginner or a pioneer of food preservation, these workshops are for you.
