SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a federally funded nutrition education program and conducted by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.

The program teaches families how to: 

  • achieve and maintain good health
  • make heatlhy food choices on a limited budget
  • prepare and store food properly

The benefits of the NEP is to:

  •  improve use of food dollars
  •  increase physical activity
  •  increase number of children eating breakfast
  •  be informed of healthier diets that reduce the risk of chronic diseases
